Summer in Lilly: Collab with Let's Get Preppy

My friend Kathleen, blogger from Letsgetpreppy , and I were trying to think of a fun collab to do this summer and we thought, what's better than Lilly Pulitzer? We decided to put together our favorite summer outfits that incorporated Lilly. This is my outfit and a sneak peek of Kathleen's.  If you want to see the rest, go check out her full post right here. I can assure you that you won't be disappointed! Now, who's ready for some Lilly?

One of my favorite tops that I own is my Lilly Pulitzer Ruffle top. I love to pair it with my white scalloped shorts, Jack Rogers, and of course, some jewelry.

Remember to go check out Kathleen's Summer in Lilly post up on Let's Get Preppy!

Things to do everyday

The Little Things

These are some things that I try to do everyday.

1. Drink water. Water has an endless amount of health benefits such as clear skin and hydration.

2. Introduce yourself to someone new. Who knows, maybe they'll become a life long friend.

3. Read something. Whether it is a book or the back of a cereal box, read it.

4. Find time for any exercise. Any type is great, even if it's taking the stairs instead of the elevator. You will feel amazing after and 100 times better than you did before.

5. Say please and thank you. They are the three politest words you could possibly use and you will definitely leave an impression on someone if you use them frequently.

6. Do something productive. Whether if it's finishing work, making a list, planning out your week, or cleaning your bathroom. You'll be so happy you got it done.

7. Laugh. If you're feeling down, just laugh. Watch a funny movie or do a crazy dance. Whenever I'm feeling down, I call my best friend because I know I'm going to laugh out loud.

8. Have you time. Find a little time each day to do something you love. Whether that's going shopping, writing in your journal, or listening to music. It will take the stress away from everything else that may have happened during the day, and allow you to relax and let go.

Hope you enjoyed. :)

Reminiscing about Rhode Island

These past couple of weeks have included lots of long car rides, but also lost of fun. My best friend and I took a day trip to Watch Hill for the day, I visited my cousin in Barrington and Providence, and my family and I went to Newport for a week! I thought I would do a blog post recapping the past few weeks. Oh, and keep a look out for my "RI Top Five," where I'll be listing my top five favorite things to do in Rhode Island! (Coming Soon.)

Watch Hill: In Watch Hill, my parents, best friend, and I had a lovely beach and shopping day. It was so relaxing walking on the sand and looking out at the beautiful ocean.

We of course had to carve our monograms into the sand ;)

Barrington and Providence: My mom and I went to visit our cousins who live in Barrington, and we brought my doggie Lulu too! My cousin and I spent most of the day shopping, eating, and walking around in Providence. We had lunch at the cutest little restaurant called, The Duck and Bunny After that, we went shopping and got our nails done. We made an end to a perfect day by watching Legally Blonde before bed.

Newport: The week after that, my parents and I took a vacation to Newport. The week consisted of relaxing on the beach, shopping in Newport, going on boat rides, eating at delicious restaurants, and looking at beautiful evening sunsets.

But first, brunch.

I saw a pink Mini Cooper, and of course had to take a picture

Oh how I love Newport Sunsets:)

So I stopped by a hat shop somewhere along the way...

Tips for Organizing Your Agenda

Organizing Your Agenda
I use my agenda constantly while at school. It is always either open on my desk or right next to me in my backpack. When I was younger, I always used to use the agenda that the school provided. However, now that I'm older, that is just not going to cut it. This year, I'm going to be using a pink agenda by of my favorite shops, Day Designer.
I'm always writing down notes, homework, activities, and much more in my agenda. So, let me share some tips with you on how I organize it!

1. Actually USE your planner! Don't be one of those people who forgets to do their homework because they simply don't feel like writing it down. Write down any tests, quizzes, homework due, and upcoming assignments. If the bell rings before you get a chance to write it down, take a quick picture of the board (my teachers usually have the homework written there) and write it down in your planner after.

2. COLOR CODE EVERYTHING! If you look into my planner, you will basically find a rainbow because I color code just about everything. I find that if I assign a different color pen to each class, it will help me notice it more rather than looking at plain black ink. (EX: Blue for APUSH, Pink for English, Green for Bio, Red for Spanish, and Purple for Geometry.) I also use different colors for when I write down my meetings, days working, and extra curriculars in the monthly overview.

3. That brings me to my next tip, write in the monthly overview! It's not just there for decoration. I love the monthly overview and how it lays out the whole month for me in a neat and organized way. In the monthly overview, I write when I have meetings, events, birthdays, vacations/trips, test dates, days off from school, and much more.

4. Use the notes pages. In the notes pages, I like to make lists, write down my teachers info (emails, phone numbers,) locker combination, and computer passwords. It's good to use as a quick reference when you need to email a teacher or log onto the computer. I also like to make my lists of goals on these pages. I always find it very inspiring and motivating to read. Here is a link to my post, New Semester, New Goals if you want to see some of my goals for the upcoming school year.

5. Use a paperclip or a sticky note to mark the week. I like to put a little paperclip on the top of my planner, on the page that begins whatever week it is. This way, it makes finding the day so much easier and saves you from having to flip through tons of pages.

6.  Write in some inspiration and add your own touch. Not all planners have to be super cute-well at least to begin with. You can make them your own by drawing on them, putting some stickers or your monogram on them. Add your own flare! This way, it will make your planner fun to look at and and you wanting to use it more. Also, write in some inspirational quotes. I like to jot down some of my favorite quotes that I have found on Pinterest on random days, particularly on Mondays, and they always seem to brighten up the day for me.

New Semester, New Goals

New Semester, New Goals
It's that time of year again, we're all getting ready to go back to school. With everyone rushing to buy school supplies and finishing up their last minute summer work, I thought I would share some of my goals for the upcoming semester.

1. Manage my time well:
This is a big goal of mine. First with classes all day, then after school clubs and a part time job, my schedule can get pretty hectic. I really want to manage my time well this year and focus on what's really important.

2. Make more friends and meet more people:
My friends are so important to me and such a great part of my life. I want to continue making more friends this year and meeting more people, as well as staying close with all of the people that I met last year.

3. World and study ahead:
I'm taking some challenging classes this year that I know are going to be really difficult for me, so I want to study for my tests ahead of time, and start my work and projects before they are due. I think that this will relieve a lot of stress, at least for me, and help me do better overall in my classes.

4. Enjoy it:
I have to admit it, freshman year wasn't my favorite year. I put a lot of unneeded stress on myself, and I don't want to do that this year. I want to work hard and succeed, but I also want to put aside some time for myself, and do things that I love. I really want to enjoy this semester and just have a great time!

We all scream for Ice Cream!

So, here's the scoop. My favorite thing about the summer is walking into a cold ice cream parlor and feeling the excitement of what I'm about to eat. I love ice cream parlors, especially old fashioned ones that you would find in the 50's. With the colored tiled floor, the bar stools, and welcoming open sign in the window. If you can't tell by now...I have a slight obsession with ice cream. Here are some of my favorite spots to grab a quick sweet pick me up during the summer:)

1. Harvey Nichols. Flavor: White chocolate gelato
2. The Mermaid. Flavor: Cake batter
3. Deborah Anne's. Flavor: Chocolate lava cake
4. Brickley's. Flavor: Butter Pecan
5. Sweet Ashely's. Flavor: Swamp
